My friends ask why, It always rains on the Fourth of July. I shrug and sigh, And give some quick reply. I once asked why, oh why God chose that day for you to die. And well know I, why It always rains on the Fourth of July. By Joyce 7/4/2000 |

Joyce: Very touching poem. It's a sad holiday for you I know. We lost our grandson on July 2nd and his birthday would have been July 15th. we always try and remember how much he enjoyed the 4th and keep it light-hearted in his memory. Betty Lou Hebert |

Thanks Betty. It was not my son, he died on George Washington's birthday. It was his dad who died on the 4th of July, way back in 1962, but you never forget the shock. Joyce |

As I read your poems, I'm touched with the sadness, and it almost puts me to shame for my happy jubilant mood of the day. The more you reveal, the more I appreciate you, and would do anything to uplift and be a comfort to you. God Bless you friend. David |
