Having shed the innocence Of youth. Adorned now with an Adults truth. No longer seeing life With childlike care. Eyes, dimmed dark, In reality's lair. Worldly goods do Rule supreme. Power, money, greed, The foundations of most dreams. Where families once stood Strongly together, Stand, now, seperated, Mother and Daughters, Time lost forever. Chivalry once held a Special place. Replaced by rude behavior Is now the case. In childhood, we sensed Adulthoods appeal. As an adult, we experience What's heart-wrenching and real. Unable to return to Childhood's safe core, Instead, we swim with reality's sharks, And hope to reach the shore. |

CHILI - This is simply an awesome write. Have you thought of entering it into Reflections for Passions book? It would get my vote! Truth rings loud and clear in this one. How sad that our childhood concepts are so violated when we become adults. Joyce |

Joyce, thanks for taking the time to read and comment. An adult world could use some of our childlike ways on occasion. |

I think there's a good and bad side to it all. But then I'm just fifteen, I still wish I could hide benath someone arms so the rain didn't hit me so hard. But I don't really mind being forced to realise what truth is, either. This is an excellent write indeed. Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |
