When Cold The March Winds Blow ~*Marge Tindal*~ When cold the March winds blow across the chasms of recall I reach for smiles-of-remember from my angels of the fall~ Mother, Shari and Shelly angels you were, all three Birth-of-days come swimming 'round always reminding me So cold these days of winter when still the March winds blow Further from the distant longing before you had to go~ Nothing do I feel but this shearing, tearing wind seeping into the heart through the cracks where you've been I gather your memories around me snuggling deep-down inside the comfort of the smiles you left so these tears would not be cried~ And yet~ Tiny droplets fall pressing your memory once again into the very heart of me I would not want to forget you for you are each worth remembering smiles, tears and all~ And today I pray that the smiles outnumber the tears like you said they would ~*~ With such loving birth-of-day memories of Mother-March 31,1925 - October 4, 1995 Sister Shari - March 8, 1944 - October 7, 1999 Shelly Barr - March 10, 1962 - November 22, 1984 ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Yes, Marge, the March winds carry on them memories for my sister Enchantress and myself of our dear mother whose birthday would have been March 13th, had she not been called home in 1969. She was so young yet, and full of the springtime that she was born to. Thankyou for this recall. Chris "Hope" is the thing with feathers- |

Dear Marge: Such a poignant write! No wonder! I see your sister Shelly and my youngest sister Patty, had the same birthdate, except Patty was born in 1942. Patty died in 1992, so I had her a little longer than you did your sister. They are all painful losses! Betty Lou Hebert [This message has been edited by Trillium (03-03-2003 11:42 PM).] |

Marge, my dad is not well and I fear I will soon live your tender poem. I have not been around much due to the family crisis but know that my friends at the Corner Pub are in my thoughts the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |
