Ready to Go Seed catalogues arriving in colors tantalizing. I savor each bright page in turn, my garden fantasizing. Fat tomatoes, fresh spring peas, summer squash, I want all these. Anticipating harvest and forgetting aching knees. March with her flirty ways and her honeyed, sweet persuasion, Each spring Miss March and I have this interesting relation. After all the seeds are bought, I'm ready for the planting. March dons one of her changing acts and does a bit of ranting. The rains come back, the cold wind blows, The loam turns into mud. I tote my tools and hoe back in, this first day is a dud. But there will be other days to come, and meanwhile I peruse. The catalogues and magazines for flowers I will choose. Sooner or later March will have a change in disposition; When that time comes I'm ready, set to go and in position. Joyce - oh, I do love the way that you write!! I can relate to this poem..lol...here in Ontario, Canada, you just never know when to pack away your winter duds & bring out the spring jackets. I cannot wait to get back out in my garden, which is now blanketed with snow. hugs,Chris "Hope" is the thing with feathers- |

yes, what Spirit said. but I have known all along about your poetic genius... the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |
