Sense of foreboding Good intentions imploding Essential the Rapture escaping disaster of unknown capture Elevated airs belie selfish natures segragating "Us" from all of "Them" It is "Us" that we are..."We"- as a whole that I can see What is the price of bigotry- to kill and maim? What are we ignoring? That peace instead of warring would give us time to know that we are all the same But in "Their" eyes the knives are thrusting and never see that "They" are busting "Theirs" AND "Ours" BOTH are losing the same game! If a man has not discovered something he is willing to die for,his life is not worth living. This poem says it as it is. If we only took the time to know each other. Joyce |

Cool poem. I like your signature too. "If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |

Excellent write Street Heart. At the moment Saddam is completely contained. The peaceful nutralisation of his influence is ongoing. The Iraqi refugees here in the UK are saying that if we feed the people and make them strong again THEY will overpower this tyrant. They don't want Iraq taken back to the stone age - so many innocent children would suffer both from the trauma of the bombing and from the shortages. I applaud your understanding. If we demonise people and only strike out in a generalised and hate-filled way I truly believe we will only create more of the same. |

Thank you all.I actually wrote this over ten years ago.I did change a few things,though... but not so much that it became another poem. I never really understood the hate that so many people live in or with. There is a very good book that I acquired several years back, entitled,"Forgive And Forget".In it,it states that forgiveness is a process that is ongoing, something that needs to be consciously and regularly worked on,and that unforgiveness does more damage on the one who possesses it than it does on the ones that it is focused on.Very interesting..... and, more importantly,...imperative,in mine and others opinion.I most certainly do have many stories that I wish to convey to you... here on "Passions".It's funny...the word,"passion" holds such an incredibly strong affection and poignancy to me.I did feel that this poem did not have enough to say and that their needed to be MORE passion in there ![]() Who are we to not abide by the same Loving rules and learn to respect other's souls and feelings....even their possible opposing opinions. Not understanding, but the mere act of trying to understand, itself, could most certainly be used in the definition of Love, if not called "Love", itself. I hate war...and will not be silent about it...I only wish that there were more that I could do to about it,though... GOD be with us Peace,Geoffrey If a man has not discovered something he is willing to die for,his life is not worth living.
