We are the Trans-global bullies We'll beat you to a pulp We have the means to do it You have no earthly hope We're coming to smash your faces We'll tear you limb from limb We're coming to spill your blood Your chances are so slim See the troops the bombs the missiles We have the very best We will certainly crush you We are the mighty West But we as bullies so often seen Don't attack the strong North Korea we leave alone This is truly very wrong Do you think we're strong and brave? Do you think we're noble? Well look again my warlike friend This conflict will go global And then you'll see our true face We're not so democratic You'll see the bully underneath Airbrained and autocratic Some sad men admire a bully They are weak and feeble-minded They think some strength will pass to them But are rightfully derided The Bush-Ape wants his pound of flesh They called him weak and foolish He'll make the vulnerable pay and pay With a vengeance sick and ghoulish These men of clay have no pride They live on others' frailty The bully is so sad inside It all comes out in cruelty While we watch his ugly face Remember well his name In bloodstained sand he will stand This Bush. This Pig. This Shame. [This message has been edited by allan (02-14-2003 01:15 PM).] |

allan - you certainly are on the soap box to-day! Have you written your government rep? I am not sure how it works in America, as I am Canadian, but you shouldn't let your thoughts go unheard. Chris "Hope" is the thing with feathers- |

LOL! Yes, I'm trying Chris, I'm trying! Tomorrow I will be giving my tonsils a real work-out when we march on the Labour Party Conference here in East Texas, er, um.. the U.K. (52nd State status awaited!). Mr Poodle-Blair is going to get his ears opened with our "Jericho Rumpus". There is an excellent site where you can see exactly what we think of the Bush-Blair love-affair... http://www.gagarama.de/bush-praesident-specials/george-w-bush.htm CIA Clone: "I think the Germans may be ahead of us in this technology Mr Bush! Shall we retarget the Nukes?" Bush: "Nah, that gets me real horny. I LIKE it!" You write - I read even though I am not even near a 100% at your side I like the fact that you obviously have passion for your course and that you have maintained it steadfastly for so many years. That I admire - you do not vacillate. Like I said before, not into debating, just wanted to step in here and say Good Morning and have a great day doing your thing. I be me BUT who does me be? |

Thank you SPIRIT. If you have some access to unbiased information in your media you will be seeing the millions in Europe who marched today for peace. We loathe George W. Bush and all he stands for. As far as we can see he epitomises the worst of America. We see him as the focus of alll the selfish arrogant holier than thou patronising bullying low-browed violence in your society. We fear and despise him as the ruthless face of ignorant and arrogant power. There are two paths from here - one leads to hell. We wont be led down that path at all and certainly not by someone of the bought and paid for by oil barons. I understand you have another point of view but please understand us - we are aware of the issues and we are aware of the issue and we too see this clearly and what we see shocks us and makes us incredibly angry. We are beginning to hate everything America stands for and each passing day of Bush's arrogance makes us more sure your country will NEVER AGAIN be trusted. I'm sorry because there are so many wonderful wonderful people in your country but I wonder when you will start to see what we see...? I hope soon before it is too late... |

Well said allan, though not sustained. I am an old "Christian Soldier" (medic), if they were to call me up I would go, for as a patriot I am behind this effort, and have not forgotten that for me at least, it is about "Two Towers" and the lost souls of my countrymen therein. These senseless killings should not go unpunished, any more than a single death does under the present law of the land. Yet, if they call my sons, one is a Marine, that is another story altogether and ultimately difficult to accept passively. In that respect, I am probably akin to those who lost their people in the Towers. As so many times before, I cannot heal the wounded with these bloodied hands, nevertheless, I wil be compelled to try. coyote "The greatest of all faults is to be conscious of none." |

Hey Alan, I couldn't agree more. I would like to shake Prime Minister Cretien's hand for sending our ground forces back to Afghanistan as peace keepers rather than be bullied by Bush into sending them to take on Iraq. The Bush administration (notice I am not gonna paint America with the same brush) shows the rest of the free world little respect by its very apparent impatience with the United Nation's inspectors. Personally, I just think George is out to finish a job his dad left undone at the turn of the last decade. I checked out your web reference LOL check this one out. Living In Our Neighbour's Shadow Again, well said!!! Sherry Cherish the good memories of the past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow. But above all... be kind to yourself today. |

Dear Allen, I am sure you are not from America or you would not be so harsh. I am against the war but I don't think Bush is the villain you paint. He has been convinced by someone that Sadaam is ready to annihiliate us. I am sure that we should be attending to the North Korea threats and hatred that country has for us. at least in this country we have the power to vote out a dictator and meanwhile we are having our own peaceful marches. Okay! you started with the "WE" thing again. I know! I know!! you mean your group, but when you say "WE" you are locking all us readers in like it or not, and I don't like it, I am not a part of "WE" nor are a lot of others I am sure. I live in America and America has been very good to me and I have the utmost respect for the Presidency of this country that has afforded me a home. I do not have to agree with all policies of any party, but when the President is elected, I feel he deserves my respect and as little of a person I am I will fully support him and his office. I really dislike it when you lump us all under "WE", really dislike it. |

That 'we' thing gets my goat as well, it's like you are talking for all of us and I just don't like that. Talk for yourself and don't include 'we'. Wisdom comes with winters. ** Oscar Wilde. |

This thing about 'we' works both ways I notice. Whenever I see the so-called patriotic poems I get angry for the same reason as yourselves. They ALSO include me in THEIR sycophantic grouping and I REALLY do not want to be in there either. I attended my own group of 100,000 Mums and Dads, Kids, Grandparents, Wheelchairbound, Ex-servicemen and women - all and every possible person was there - many many for the first demonstartion of their lives on Saturday in Glasgow. All these ordinary gathered together to say "Hi! We are also here and we say NO to War! I understand not wanting to be grouped into our little band but can you imagine just how often we get grouped along with yours? Anyhow, if you'd like to take a look at the kinds of people 'we' are I took 100+ photos of the day and created an album. Just click on any thumbnail image to get the full sized photo: http://members.fortunecity.com/allan51/demo/index.htm All the best to everyone in their search for peace. Whatever your method let's hope we retain our humanity at destinations end. |

Passing Shadows So we will be defending Iraq and the Iraqi people and not attacking them, interesting reasoning, would you care to elaborate on the logic behind that? In my opinion a pre-emptive attack is still an attack, you can only be said to be performing a defensive act when that act is in response, and designed to rebuff, an act of invasion or clear aggression committed against you or your allies. A good example of a defensive action would be the original Gulf War, Kuwait was invaded and the allies reacted in a defensive manner. By your rules Russia could have been described as acting in a defensive manner when it invaded Afghanistan. |

we are defending ourselves, our people, our future... we are not attacking the innocent people of Iraq, only the ones set out to do us harm |

Passing Shadows quote: If I was in a bar and a man punched me in the nose any retaliatory physical action (i.e. punching him in the nose) would be deemed as a defensive act. If I was in a bar and a man looked like he might punch me in the nose any physical action I took (i.e. punching him in the nose) would be deemed an attack. If I was in a bar and I saw a man who had punched me in the nose on a previous occasion any physical action (i.e. punching him in the nose) could be considered just retribution but would still be deemed to be an attack. Of the above scenarios, which best describes the current situation with regard to Iraq? quote: First you are defending now you are attacking but only the ones who set out to do you harm, which is it defence or attack and who are these people who have set out to do you harm? Are you basing your comment on the potentiality to do you harm or actual acts that have taken place? |

An interesting satire. Its various images give the piece a style somewhat similar to prophetic writings. "If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |

With regard to any current debates concerning the matter of Bush, his nation, his policies, and any other controvercial items, please remember that we are unlikely to find unbiased information anywhere at a time like this. Remember that holding to the idea of being opposed to Bush or anyone else is automatically a bias. Life's a nasty female dog sometimes... "If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |

Besides the fact this poem is riddled with cliche's, scans primitively, and forces almost all its rhymes, it's also logically bereft. Please explain to those of us who do support our country; which other nation in the history of the world has helped the cause of human rights more than ours? Which nation has saved the butts of countless other countries when they most needed saving? Where in this...ahem...fine poem do you display the slightest criticism towards those countries that harbor terrorists? Where is your indictment of Saddam himself? Perhaps you are of the opinion that we would have been better off leaving Iraq in the hands of that barbarous murderer. Maybe we should give the country back to him. Let him bring back his sweet, loving sons so they can reopen their rape rooms, children's prisons, torture chambers, then reinstate their warm hearted death squads to boot. Maybe you haven't heard of the al Qaida training camps they've found in that country? How many more 911 style attacks do you think our brave men, (and women) prevented by dismantling the terrorists infrastructure. I have no problem with you or anyone else who wishes to protest as he sees fit. But, as a proud parent of a U. S. Marine, I've come to understand that your right to protest has been bought by the blood of brave warriors past and present--which has also bought me the freedom to fly this great country's flag any day I wish.
