THE TOUGH I was immediately attracted To your coarseness. The tough glint in your eyes And rough hewn look, Appealed to my inner senses. Not terribly tall, Stocky and aggressive, I was amused at myself For such an unusual attraction, So contradictory to the norm. You made me feel safe, protected. With you, my fears vanished. God help anyone or anything That would try to hurt me. You, my defender, Would save me, From others, from myself. I was immediately attracted To your gentleness. The love in your eyes, The softness of your gaze, Appealed to my inner senses. How tender your touch, Caressing my skin. You made me feel loved, With you, My plainness vanished, I became beautiful. You, my lover, my friend Saved me from fears, Real or imagined. You, saved me From myself. How different, the dark that scares us, |

There is nothing so gentle as gentleness in a rough exterior. I loved your poem. Joyce |

People who get to know me sometimes see past my stern apperance. They see the tenderness I try hard to conceal. paladin |
