A portrait
That bespeaks volumes
In eloquent silence,
Brilliantly painted
On the canvasses
Of age-etched faces.

The weathered companions,
Sit, as one,
Holding hands,
Holding hearts.
Truly, a great work of art,
A magnificent masterpiece
In serenity, love,
Caring and commitment.

such memories this envokes of my parents 50th and the family portrait I treasure. thanks for the warmth of this piece.

SPIRIT: I enjoyed your poem! My husband and I had our 50th anniversary last July and you know, we never took a picture! What were we thinking! Maybe we can do it still and pretend it was for that special occasion.
