A ONE MAN GAME Our life's a game of SOLITAIRE, And time slips by us, Unaware. We play the cards As they are dealt, Each win, or loss, Is deeply felt. We fight, we laugh, We love and hate, We tell the truth, We fabricate. When things go wrong, We place the blame, On a hand of cards, The play of the game. As we set out On our paths', alone We have no need For a chaperone, For whether 'together', Or whether a wreck, We, you and I, Unaided, SHUFFLED THAT DECK. I am an enigma, even unto myself. |
