Pieces of the Night I watch the sky begin to blush With early mornings rosy blush. The hills are outlined, sharply drawn Against the background of the dawn. This is a lovely time of day And as the color fades away, Some ravens, black as ebony, Go flying by and caw at me. I wish that I could understand What motivates their little band And what they're saying.Soon their flight Has carried them away, they might Be ragged pieces of the night! Chris: Thanks for commenting. We have so many ravens around our place and seems you can see or hear them most anytime, but they are especially active in the early morning. I find them fascinating for some reason! Betty Lou Hebert |
