WAR ZONE Damn it all, when the home Becomes a battleground. A marriage gone awry, A united front, Selfishly split. What once was theirs Is now, his and hers. Emotionally, physically The pain is unbearable. Made even worse by the love That has been lost. The land has been divided By the warring factions. It has become a gulf of Intolerance's, impatience And hatreds. Prisoners are taken, The innocent, The unaware, The children. Though not asked to pick a side On which to stand, They feel the need to do Exactly that. Wide-eyed, scared, fearfully They are split asunder By the deprivation Of the security, Of family. May their hearts beat strong Beneath their war torn chests. May they gallantly get back On course, against all odds, Battle scarred as they are, Be winners In a no win situation. God willing, May they find The tough road, They have traveled, Leads to COURAGE in living And COMPASSIONATE HEARTS. I am an enigma, even unto myself. |

Very well done SPIRIT. I can feel your anger and disgust in this poem. Then your prayer for the innocent ones. Chris "Hope" is the thing with feathers- |
