The Eyes of Memory I look through eyes of memory, That cast a glow on all I see. Happy times in distant places. Caring people.Loving faces. The eyes of memory are kind. No flaw or blemish do they find, As they scan a liftetime's pages. Nothing changes.Nothing ages. Like amber beads of vivid light, Each image hangs before my sight. Then fades, once more returning me To focus on reality! Betty Lou Hebert Published in "Days of Futures Past", 1989 [This message has been edited by Trillium (11-04-2002 06:01 PM).] |

BettyLou~ How wonderful for us that 'hindsight' is 20/20 in visions from the pages of our memories~ This is lovely ... the format is a bit different from you ... and VERY effective~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Dear Marge: Thanks! I was thinking about remembering people and places exactly as the last time we saw them and how different reality can sometimes be. Betty Lou Hebert |

Hello Betty Lou How lovely to have found you here. I very rarely visit the Corner Pub but I'm so glad I was able to find this gem of yours. Your words touched my heart and made me instantly think of my father. Take care.....Sue I am in motion |

Hi Sue: Nice to hear from you. I post regularly on this site and also on Spiritual Journeys. I read sometimes, when I can, on Open, but rarely post anything there. That's why I appreciate your links. So glad that you liked this poem! Thanks. Betty Lou Hebert |
