The Flowers of the Fall The flowers of the fall are best. When summers blossoms go to rest, These bravely face the chilling air, Bring vivid spots of color where The autumn shadings hold full sway And brighten up a somber day. The flowers of the fall, I find, Bring many memories to mind And as I pick one last bouquet I watch October fade away. November closes out their reign, Until the autumn comes again. So, I'll savior in full measure, All these hardy blooms I treasure!, Betty Lou Hebert Published in Best of Rhyme Time, 1989 [This message has been edited by Trillium (10-29-2002 12:02 AM).] |

I just put in the fall plants a couple of weeks ago. they really brighten up a fading garden..thanks for sharing the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

pegasus111: Thanks for commenting. We have really enjoyed our fall flowers this year. They've been especially nice, but I see snow all around us this morning on the higher peaks. Their time is almost done! Betty Lou Hebert |
