Things I Love Payday, cashing my check Saturday night square dance riding around; anywhere, nowhere. Popping corn, renting a movie afternoons sitting on the porch conversation with good neighbors these are things I love. Sunday morning newspaper little league baseball second graders Shakespeare. Singing favorite hymns in church fresh cut grass and lemonade walking hand in hand, heart in heart these are things I love. A kiss stolen out in public smile filled with old secrets shared glance across crowded room. Warm, heavy coat in wintertime bouquet of homegrown roses holidays filled with family dinners these are things I love. Comfortable clothes decades soft sweet grandchildren’s laughter wet little puppy dog kisses. Reaching out in the nights middle feeling her soft and warm smiling as sleep comes softly again these are things I love. ~~~~~ |

this rings the bell for me too...Bravo Tramp... the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

Tramp Poet, I would have to agree with the rest of the replies here. Great poem, and as much as you love all these things, I know you must be thankful too, and what greater time to display such thankfulness than now. Thanks for sharing here with us. |
