Surrounded by many, yet alone I sit.
Wondering and wishing I could just quit.
Quit this mixed up life,
The one that pierces me with its knife.
I wonder why and wish I could be strong,
And question the reasons why I don't belong.
Am I punished for mistakes I've made?
Oh, how very sharp is justice's blade.
It cuts me to the very core,
Yet, I turn around and ask for more.
How I yearn for that deep, peaceful, sleep,
Into which reality can't creep.
Holding tight to God's hand,
I'll wade through life's quicksand.
Trying always to do my best,
So in the end I receive a peaceful rest.

this is all that any of us can do my friend...well written. I truly enjoy rhyming couplets to express one's feelings. Looking forward to more...
