Soaking in the warmth
of your last kiss
drowning in the the feeling
of your last embrace

Love between us
flows like water
moves like the waves
gentle and un-asking
then urgent and crashing

but never demanding
just love washing over
every inch of my skin
my body and soul
from the outside in

The pushing of the waves
against my heart
I instinctly put up my guard
but it's too late

Your love has pulled me
to your distant shore
and I don't want to try
to swim against the tide of you

Take me with you
so I can soak myself
in the warmth of your kiss
and drown you your arms

Good to see your smiling face here this morning.

'I don't want to try
to swim against the tide of you'

Red, I really like this one you've penned.
~ The pushing of the waves against heart ~
Oh, how the way you've weaved the tides into this just captured my heart.

Redwriter,

Happy to see a book submission from you!!!  This was great.  I love the water theme throughtout the poem.

You know you have my vote!!
