This poem is a true story.

Genesis Evermore

A shy little boy of only eight
Handed her a single red rose
Childhood friends and forever soul mates
So here is how the story goes

To the senior prom they went
A red rose fragrant her corsage
Such power to its scent
True love could never a mirage

Giggling, she threw the bouquet
From the steps of the church
Red roses for her wedding day
No more would they search

Years gone and times changed
But not the garden they had grown
Their proof of unity, never estranged
Heart to heart, they will never walk alone

10 years since he departed
Still she receives roses from her groom
A reminder of how love got started
That stretches beyond tomb

The bush that he planted
Only blooms but one day a year
For a love that was never taken for granted
She recalls with a tear

Their anniversary, a day she holds dear
A miracle rose straight from his shore
Two different realms, but one message is clear.
With a soul mate bringsā€¦Genesis evermore

I have read this at least 6 times and the proper words still evade me.  All I can say is BEAUTIFUL and I hope that says enough.  I will be back to read it again I'm sure.

And well worth the wait Marina. . .

Again, speaks to the power and the depth of love that can only exist when two people are meant for each other. . . it can be a scary thing. . . but if they take that chance, the happiness that they know will live forever. . .

Superb poem my friend. . .

Here's a rose for them. . .

Well I'm back and I had to add this to my file.  Hope you don't mind.  This one would be a great one for the book.  I may be new but I do try to keep informed.

These words help to reach all the ones in the world who have not yet and those who possibly will never feel the awesome power of a "True Love".  Again well done!!!!

Marina hello, I love the last line of this piece "With a soul mate brings Genesis evermore", most people I suppose think of love as a continual journey building day by day, but this line speaks to me of a continual rebirth of feelings and emotions, I like it very much and its very thought provoking. What a wonderful way of looking at love
thanks for sharing this
Olias.

Sven thank you.  I do believe the message this poem represents.  My Mom is living prove.

Prometheus, once again I thank you.  I am just so impressed with your comparision of my" Buttercups and Bluebelles" to Wuthering Heights! LOL

Mark, To tell a fellow poet that you wish to add their work to you personal file......is the biggest compliment of all.  Do I mind?  I am humbled and homoured!  Thank you very, very much.

Eagle One, thank you very much.  I am glad you liked it.

Olias, thank you.  That was exactly the message I was trying to convey.  When true love starts.....there is no end to it.  Thank you for seeing this.

Marina, now this is one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking poems that I have ever read.  Words are not enough to describe how much I love this.  This is my favourite by you.  The last line is perfect and brilliant.  Being the hopeless romantic that I am, I have always believed in soulmates, and even in death I believe that both still have that connection and will reunite in heaven as they did on earth.  Applause for you girl!  You painted a beautiful love with your words, and it's amazing to see that it is based on the true story of your parents.  Have you shown this to your Mom yet?  I am sure that she would cry tears of sorrow, yes, but, also many tears of joy and pride because her daughter wrote such a romantic tribute!  Your poetry is even more beautiful than a red rose.  I admit that  I do give a lot of compliments to many poets here, but your poem has touched me in such a profound way, you must know that I now have the utmost respect for you.  Please share more poems with us, I look forward to them       I think that you should submit this poem for the Voices On The Web Book, you would definately have my vote, afterall, it would be a loss if you didn't submit this piece!

Take care,
Melissa Honeybee
