What mystery do women hold Enveloped in their silky folds That cause men, however bold To follow folly and quest for gold? Is it her laugh, her lilting song Or her gentle hands that do no wrong Her maidens charms, that beg men on To do for her, to fight the throng? Is it mother's wisdom, gained through years, Passed to each daughter with gentle tears Or a calm that comes, despite her fears A strength in weakness that endears? What a wonderous gift to Man God gave, Desire's mistress and Passion's slave. Men would likely dwell in caves If not for the delicate ones we crave. So where does that leave us, boy and man? Fighting over a woman's hand Til' hopefully by grace we stand With the woman we love wearing wedding band. Knowlege tempered by wisdom...Wisdom tamed by youth. |
