HALF MOON BAY Spirits of this starlit night Come and soothe my weary plight Bring content within my reach As I stand here on Half Moon Beach Stars above me light the night And glisten on these sands of white Twinkle me a starlit way Across the sands of Half Moon Bay Oh moon of opal evening glow Please guide my footsteps through the snow The snowy sands where I now stray Along the fringe of Half Moon Bay Guardian angel, take my hand And lead my way across the sand Watch my foot, and make my way Across the shore of Half Moon Bay God, I beg You carry me The path ahead is hard to see I am too weary from this day To cross the sands of Half Moon Bay God spoke in ways I understood The path you seek is one of good You do not need the stars or moon To light your way through sandy dune Nor do you need an angel's hand To cross the starlit path of sand Nor do I need to carry you Your faith alone will see you through Elizabeth Santos |

God spoke in ways I understood The path you seek is one of good You do not need the stars or moon To light your way through sandy dune Elizabeth, a beautiful poem and a magical image painted by your words. wonderful. A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry |

Liz, this is so serene and calming... very nice... Excellent work from you as ever... Regards, sudhir. P.S. I was just wondering if the last word of the first stanza was meant to be Bay instead of beach (just me wondering aloud for no reason ![]() |

That was a beautiful poem... There is much beauty in the night, and in your words. ![]() "Even a fool knows you can't touch the stars, but it doesn't stop a wise man from trying." Harry Anderson, "Night Court" *Cassandra Roseen* |

Loved this, Liz! I've been to Half Moon Bay many times, it's one of my favorite places. Love to go for the pumpkin festival, and in winter when the storms threaten the houses (no crowds that time of year). Been horseback riding there, too. Sigh, thanks for the memories! Corinne |

Liz, this is lovely...the rhythm and the repetition of "Half Moon Bay" throughout the verses gives it such an ethereal, melodic aire. Just so nice... ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
