My Guy is not Romantic

I love to read poems written by others
about sadness and happiness with their lovers
love poems are something that I never write
and I have reflected, how can that be right?

I have known love and its thousands faces
and have been many wonderful places
I have keened for a lover that died
and, oh, how romantic poems make me sigh

My guy never says, I love you," to me
but kisses me good-bye when he leaves
my guy and I have snore wars
and he loves my children from my husband before

My guy never tells them, "I love you."
But shows his love by the things he will do
my guy has stood at each one of their sides
and gone to their graduations filled with pride

My guy knows all my secrets inside
and his past to me, nothin' denied
I know his sorrows, regrets and dreams
and he smiles at my silly life schemes

He never takes me out to go dancin'
and there is absolutely no romancin'
unless you count that glint in his eye and huggin'
when he snags me up for some fantastic lovin'

My guy doesn't care if I get fat
can you imagine that?
My guy encourages me to go out on the town
and have fun without him around

No, I have had my heady romances
flowers, candy and wonderful dances
men wooing me without integrity
No, my non-romantic guy is all I need

My guy and I have been hurt in the past
with whispered words of love that didn't last
My guy by no means is a romantic soul
but his faithful heart is mine, this I know

God this was so tender and I could feel like I could cry...You have expressed this well and I think your guy sounds wonderful, you hold onto your non romantic guy he sounds too good to be true.

Your guy is probably the most romantic in the world...expressing romance in words are not as precious as expressing them through such beautiful acts of tenderness and care...

Stick to your guy, hold on to him for as long as you can....netswan...

Netswan~ yes he is romantic.....it's all in his heart...his poetry is in his faithfulness and his actions! From the sound of it I think you have yourself quite a guy! Excellent poem!
