I will accept you as you are < !signature-->With every imperfection Because when it comes to faults I have my own collection I see you with love's own eyes So blind I do not see Any faults in you at all You are perfection to me See acceptance in my eyes Feel love in my touch No matter what our future holds I'll love you just as much When hard times come our way Whatever you may do Never think of giving up Our love will see us through So I ask you, darling please Don't ever say good-bye For on the day you walk away This poetic soul shall die Steven Seaman My poems are my hopes, my fantasies and my dreams Created with emotion, imagination and thought Read my words you will know my heart Look in my eyes you can see my soul [This message has been edited by sea_of_okc (edited 06-18-2000).] |

I love this poem.... However, the last stanza is gloomy... You can live on your own. Its when you believe you cant that life gets really scary.. Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go. |

I'll have to agree with Cuddlez here...the last stanza is gloomy. I think in a really healthy relationship, it's very important that both people have their own happiness within themselves first. Then, when you find someone special, them being added to your life, is merely to "compliment" the happiness that's already there. I learned the hard way, not to depend on someone else for my strength and vitality, or happiness. You don't want to let yourself become that needy and vulnerable. Love is so much more enjoyable when both partners are not only happy within themselves, but also as a couple. That's my two cents. I know you didn't ask for it though! LOL As far as the poem goes....it's very sincere, and beautifully written from the heart. Me likes it alot sir Sea...Hey, I've been looking for you on Yahoo btw... Show your face soon, will ya? Elizabeth, sea - Thank you LW - you too can be loved like this... never give up Hon Cuddelz - IS and HAS BEEN living on his own. It would just be soooo much better to have someone to share my happiness with Gen - what are ya a literalist or something?!?!?! This is poetry dear, you know art? All artist take some liberty in their work. Obviously I would neither die nor quit writing if my love is not returned but to give the depth of feeling I exagerate some. Not alot but some. Needy is not good, vulnerable on the other hand is kinda necessary if you are to truly share every part of yourself with another, I have no fear of being vulnerable to someone I love, think it comes with the territory no? Doreen - Yes I think unconditional love is what we all desire... thanks for your reply DeVine one - Six little words?? What would they be? Ummmmm, "Sharon you want to come over?" Lets see, one, two, three, yeah thats six words! Ummmm, not the ones you were thinking of??? Then WHAT? |

I enjoyed your poem, truthful and honesty, to be loved as you are is all you could ever ask or need...not to be loved for something that you are not, or pretend to be to satisfy anothers wants or desires, then you loose yourself ...great descriptive poem if your words are true(meaning as poets we sometimes imagine and get lost in loves emotion and feeling)..you are a sweet person. |
