"I will not wholly die..." -- A. Pushkin In his memory, I love the winter, when with ardor, It pecks us with the farewell gusts And welcomes yet another martyr,-- Another poet back to dust!-- To Mother Earth returns his soul... He lives in verse, -- abides unbound! While Lady Death upon the wall Draws one more stripe to get the count Of all her winnings for the day. Oh foolish Death, don’t stir the broth! He lives in me! And once I stray, Love will pick up where I left off. Check out my poetry here: http://cafepoetry.com/stage1/andrey_kneller.htm#My%20Hamlet |

Thank you SEA, he's a famous russian poet... one of my favorites... You've probably heard of his famous work Eugene Onegin before. |

Master a wonderful poem beautiful thanks for sharing. ------------------------ "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." E.E Cummings. "Art is a lie which makes us realise the truth." Pablo Picasso "We Irish are too poetical to be poets, we are a nation of brilliant failures" Oscar Wilde ----- |
