I see you from afar Can you feel my eyes as I strain to see Hear the shout as the childern cry out as they run and play The anguish I feel as the coming night descends Where is the cause What is the cure Can any feel my screams see me shudder My tears a misty curtain they form Watch as they dry with the morning light Look at my face as it changes with the sun There's a smile on my lips and a laugh in my heart I dread the nights and rejoice with the days I hear all the crys and the sorrows I see I cling to the laughter the happiness I feel Envy the childern for the love they can give I look to the past memories I see some pleasant but some sad to I dwell in the present here is pain despair sadness allround a trickle of joy I reach out to the future shrouded in clouds of mystery Silver lined they are Like a leaf on a sea I drift in the breeze Pushed here blown there Reach out to the future grab the world by the throat Just shake it and take it Its mine its yours We share it you and I |

Reach out to the future and grab it by the throat. A philosophy of life that I hold strong to. The future is a result of today, of the present and we have to grasp everything as tightly as we can. To control our own future is impossible but we can certainly guide it. You convey many deep feelings in this poem, sadness and joy and hopefulness. I enjoyed it greatly. Richie! |
