©2000 Christopher Ward In me speaks the song, the melody- which dreams empty, ‘cross the edges of coherent... thought. Sighing, I tug this face of lonely -worn for years worn by tears- from beneath this masque of self-portrayal; intentional deceit. -worn for years worn by tears- Re-memories re-surge sparkling of when loved-pained-loved-left (forget) she meant “we.” traveled sky altered earth withered fire and the waters of my soul stumble forth, shattering into a query (begging) spare one more night, another star to dwell beneath, in memory of fantasy... I simply can’t recall. |

Many of these words my friend have been ripped right out of my heart! And when one touches me, I like it all the more. Bitterly beautiful work here Chris! < !signature--> ~Sheri [This message has been edited by Irie (edited 07-27-2000).] |

A great poem, Chris! I liked this one much, especially the verse on masks, "worn for years/worn by tears" will ring in my mind for quite a while now. Abrahm Simons "Keep on dreamin' boy 'cause when you stop dreaming it's time to die" - Blind Melon |

Christopher~ Such sadness should not hold your heart. Fervently conceived and presented. ' traveled sky altered earth withered fire and the waters of my soul stumble forth shattering into a query (begging) spare one more night, another star to dwell beneath, in memory of fantasy...' Accolades for this beautiful poem, my friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Memories, whether elusive or invasive, are ever a source of emotional upheaval, and you write of it all so well, my friend. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

I loved this. Memories are often open wounds but when they heal, the scars are almost like medals of honor. "Lost somewhere in yesterday's sorrows. Comes unhealthy aching for tomorrows. Really when we lost our way, Was when we lost sight of today..." ~Krissie "I'm sorry for telling u love was unnecessary... making u lose ur way. I'm sure I'll be as sad as u feel." ~Touch and Go |

I'd liek to thank everyone who took the time to read this. I know I don't get in here very often anymore but I do read every now and then. And thank you to those who understand the feelings of a lost memory... and of the sorrow of a memory that you'll never be able to forget, because it was one that existed only in dreams. This poem is for what was and what wil never be. Letting go can be/is the hardest thing to do. And it isn't a *snap* and then done. It's a process that to tell the truth, I'm not sure ever is completely over. Hugs my friends, thank you all for being you! Chris |
