.....this is for you, Dad..... I wish I could see you again... You weren't just my Dad, you were my closest friend... When life all felt bad, you showed me how to grin... I love you right now as I loved you back then... I wish I could see you again... I wish I could fly to your side... To hold your hand like you held mine as a bride... You gave me away, and then you stepped aside... It all fell apart, but you knew that I tried... I wish I could fly to your side... I wish I could turn back the clock... To the days on the lake, dangling feet off the dock... When you taught me to sew, Dad, it was really a shock!!! You were always my fortress, you were always my rock... Dad, I wish I could turn back the clock... I wish there was no more goodbye... How I wish there was never a sad word like die... But I know that our time has run short, you and I... I will miss you, but I'll see you when I close my eyes... And someday there'll be no more goodbyes... And there'll be no more reason to cry... (I love you, Dad) Love received is equal to love given! |

Sunny, that was so beautiful! So sad! As you know, I've been there also. It's rough! Such a wonderful poem. Sauni Sauni :) Have you ever known the color grey when the nighttime finds you weak I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps |

Paula and Sauni....... You've both suffered a loss, one known and one unknown. It's all the same....an empty place.... My Dad used to say that when you lose someone or thing that is dear to your heart, fill the empty space up with friends.... and he was right..... Thank you both, friends Love received is equal to love given! |

As a dad my self I can see your sadness my daughter and I have the very same closeness I think you have put in words what she would say herself thank you for that |

Bill.... Thank you....this one was hard to write, but I think he would have liked it. Zion....Thank you, also. Most dads and daughters have a special bond...... Dads are always the hero. Love received is equal to love given! |
