Welcome ...

as i awake this gentle morn
  reflecting pools of softness
  wrap warmth and comfort
  around my aching bones
mesmerized by the light
  playing off the ripples
  like starbursts
  floating off into space
the tempered gurgle
  raises and lowers
  in volume and pitch
my ears follow along
  like notes on a page
  symphony of droplets
  playing orchestral movements
  matching the timpani
  of my beating heart
the air tastes sweet today
  like honey, maybe bergamot
  like the best cup of tea
  upon a morning's wake
the cooling breeze
  soaks in between
  layers of my skin
  as though my shell
  doesn't exist
my clothes shimmer
  like the finest silk
  or fresh talc to touch
i stand and stretch my limbs
  and feel strength
  of a thousand men
i feel the presence
  of others about
  but see them not
a slight brush
  against my shoulder
  and i turn to greet
the vision of splendor
  as i've never seen
  arms stretched wide
  floating in air
  like the hummingbird awing
i must be in heaven

then the voice
