I don't usually post here, but I thought I would try it out. I wrote this poem as a tribute to all war veterans. If you are reading this and are a war veteran or know someone in your family that is, I say thank you. Your sacrafice has made it possible for my continued freedom. Hope you like the poem..... In the war thats taken him from a land of peace. A young man see's reality through eyes filled with grief. Now in the dirt mixed with blood he buries his fellow man. The evil deed has been done and justice in his hand. Never again will I see a war so beyond belief. as the one fought in the minds of those who lived it long ago. Again and again the death they see each time killing a part of them. For war kills more than men. It fractures the fragile soul which only God can mend again. well said, Jason ... i'm not a war veteran, but did serve active duty for 4 years ... being that close to it gives one some perspective, but obviously not the same as actually being in it ... thanks for sharing this ...< !signature--> My calling before me, let quill be my offering; For to be called poet, no greater gift to receive.
