I Cried for Her... and I Cried for Me... (inspired by ethome) Sometimes I read, a poem's words A mind of thoughts, so gently heard Overwhelmed, my heart feels out Speaks it's beat and wants to shout When E. wrote of a "loving" found My warmth arose, past to surround I miss her much, was always old To me was fashioned out of gold The one to give a hug for free No wants, just loved so easily Reminded now of times ago When I would visit, put on a show To spirit her, perk up her wits As she alone would share her bits Of history, America bound Her travels and losses and happiness found And family, we'd always talk Reminisce and take a walk She would laugh, tell tales to me Of Mom and sisters and brothers three. But always in the back of mind She'd lost a bit, no me could find Marcia, or Edith, or Sherry or Dee Everyone, but Maureen or Renee That's me the one who missed her so Her mind was gone, she didn't know If I was daughter, or daughter's child Or sister or cousin, so meek and mild Accepted, I did, each waking word To see her pleased, if never heard I cried the day she passed from here I cried the loss of someone dear... thank you Kit..Ethome's poem reminded me of my grandmother who lived to be 95 and passed away over ten years ago..my sister had some past problem with her and was stubborn and wouldn't visit her in the nursing home the last few years and I would go and she always called me by my sister's name... |

A big thank you to you both. This was so lovely and touching. It is always hard when they don't even remember who you are . . . *sigh* . . . I have been there too. You know and that is the important thing. Wonderful work!! Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

How great a tribute to those of us who have lost someone so dear. I was very close to my grandmother and she lives on in words like your own. Great piece. oh2beme Debbie L. Hoskins |
