Little Raindrops

Little hazy bits of raindrops
Falling gently as a mist
Not enough to call a rainfall
Just some dewdrops that persist

Just a drizzle slowly falling
Not a teardrop in my eye
Not enough from sorrow’s pool
To fall upon my cheek and cry

‘Tis my heart that keeps on weeping
For a lover's bitter sting
It’s the song of sad remembering
That it doesn’t want to sing

Misty haze across the meadow
Misty dewdrops in my eye
Droplets falling from the willow
That are not allowed to cry

Little raindrops in the waiting
Fill my chalice year to year
I am weeping deep inside me
But have yet to shed a tear

It’s an unseen falling misty haze
That I keep hid away
As the sparrow sings his song each morn
And perserveres each day

Your poetry releases me from the pain of today. Somehow I feel, after reading so much of your wonderful well rhymed and metered verses, that your poetry releases you from yesterday. If in fact that is true it is sad that it takes hurt, as it does many on this board, to bring out the beauty entrapped in the poet's heart. However, that beauty becomes a gift like something that falls from the heavens. I have to say I'm glad to be able to enjoy your work and the work of so many other fine poets at Passions.
This poem, "Little Raindrops," is another fine example of the depth of your writing Elizabeth.
I make these comments based on the freedom of expression that all enjoy here.
Keep up the fine work!

Sunshine, Bright and early on a Saturday morning. Thank you for your kind response
Liz

Ethome, Thank you for your generous comments. I think what you say is true. Poetry, art, music and dance comes from the soul and the deeper that well, the more to be expressed. I have come to know many poets on passions who have suffered greatly and it does come out in the poetry, that's true.
Thank you
Liz

Elizabeth,
What a beautiful way of expressing tears. So many hidden meanings here that you wrote. Very well done.

I know how it is to cry without shedding a tear and to scream without making a sound. You described it better than I ever could.

Dearest Liz; My prayers are with you as You
suffer this time in your life. This is a most beautiful poem as always, and I'm glad that your gift for writing helps to release the feelings. See you soon. Love, Ellie

The meter could not be sweeter
Nor the rhyme more sublime.
Your pen flows on its merry way
And does it every time.

Terrific, Ms Santos,,,

Liz,

Comparing your tear to little raindrops is very creative.  It is always tough when we feel the tears, but they just do not fall.  In time they will and you will be able to look ahead.  This was beautiful writing.

So sad, touching and beautifully written.  It hurt to read this, you speak of how I feel so well.  As always, you are a gifted poet, and I printed this out for myself.
