She turns twenty-nine today Twenty-nine, she’ll be tomorrow But when the day of thirty comes It will be a time of sorrow Ole thirty might not sound so young It’s a case of age inflation But twenty-nine rolls off the tongue Like a well-built fabrication What’s with thirty that’s so wrong I say a number nice and round “Does this number look round to you” As I get up off the ground One day, let go of twenty-nine We all die eventually I love you sweet ‘til end of time Please will you grow old with me |

AAARGGH I am 20 and feel old, I can't imagine 30. Other than reminding me that my life is quickly hurdling towards old age, that was a really beautiful poem. Lovely Walt. why must we pray screaming? why must not death be redefined? we shut our eyes we stretch out our arms and whirl on a pane of glass-patti smith |

You wimps!!! Age is nothing more than a number...if you allow yourself to grow old, you'll BE old, no matter if you're 21, 31 or 41! I challenge you to stay young at heart. Never loose your smile, your sense of humor or your playfulness...you'll always be young then! Love the poem! Is it Mrs. Walt's birthday soon? If so, tell her Happy Birthday..if not, tell her she's not getting older she's getting better. |

Great title walt, Holding back age is the same as trying to hold back the sea. Let me know if you find a way. If we stop all the clocks and get rid of calendars, will that work? Yup, maybe???? But whose in charge of them? Linda M. |
