Like a forgotten dream Your face comes back to me. Bright eyes and a sweet smile The things that break my heart. I hear your voice calling to me How do I resist the pull Even though I know you dont truly care? I am a toy you play with when you are bored. I am your security when you are between loves. My heart knows this to be true yet still I long for your arms. New love comes my way and I want so much to take it. But you are there in the corner of my heart. Denying me my chance for a new life. But wait...its not you that does that. Its my own inability to see you as you are. Selfish and cruel in your hold over me. Wanting only the power not the love. I am learning. never say never |

Paula, As I read through your poem I could feel the pain of you. But then as the ending approached you finally started to see the light of the dawn. Very nice Paula, and I hope to see many more. |

Paula, Take it back!!! The power is ALWAYS in your hands. He can only do what you allow him to do. You deserve so much more my friend. Wonderful and vivid writing. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
