Papa I love you
In all your ways
Let me see the ladybug
You and I found today

Can we go sledding??
Out in the clean white snow
My wooden sled it is red
Down the hill we go

Today I ride my tricycle
Around and around I go
Circling the house outside
Singing songs I know

You watch me out the window
And wave and smile at me
This I love about you
As I go around and sing

Today we go to DisneyWorld
And ride fast through a mountain
It goes really fast through space
It was so much fun I thought

We went to visit Mommy
Wow I have a little brother
I thought he'd be a girl
Can I hold him please??

Sitting on the couch
I hold him in my lap
I in pink with a big cheesy grin
You aim and click

Daddy today I get a bike
You pick it out with me
We brought one home
A banana bike it be

You and I love ice cream Dad
To Dairy Queen we go
Mom gets a shake, and you get a cone
Me, I love butterscotch sundaes

I'm growing older every year
Childhood passing through
But, I love you Dad
For I am still your little girl

You've seen me through a lot
School plays you came to see
And graduate I did too
Both you captured on video

Hey Dad I start college soon
I am so excited
Because I hope to be a teacher
I hope I finish soon

This weekend we go to Hope
To dig and play in the dirt
A ride or two, 4 wheeling we go
My younger brother he's there too

We sit by the fire
I talk and talk and talk
You say a lot of interesting things
I learn from you so much

It's so quiet and peaceful
Except for brother teasing me
Watching this fire with you
Lets roast a marshmallow or two

These days you let me know
What you want for me
My boyfriend is a dork
You say, "I'll take him mining"

Some time has gone by
Still in college plugging away
I hope to be a teacher
Someday maybe

Dad you drive me to work
Sometimes from school
For in the winter
It gets soo dang cold

Wow I met this great guy today
He works with me Dad
I just know you'll love him
For he's nice and sweet and so sincere

It is so strange
But I decided today
That this is the time
I will be moving away

I talked about it so long
I will be going to Oregon
As I said a few years ago
Give me a hug Dad I will be ok

In all of my life
You have been my Dad
Through highs and lows
You love me so

It's funny how you tease me
I tell everyone it's cuz you love me
For I let them know if you ignore
They best stay away for you don't like them

This day I write you Dad
And tell you how I feel
Hugs and kisses I send
Without you it would be unreal
I love you so much and always will

Once again, Bridgette, congratulations on your 1000th post! I like the way you started this poem with your childhood memories and then gradually wrote about your adult life, always talking about the things you and your dad did together. Very sweet! Has he seen this yet?

A wonderful tribute to your father, written with loving warmth. < !signature-->
