The Snake Charmer With snake charming poems he captures your ear Then with spicy devices, entices you near They stimulate, fascinate, captivate you Elevate, saturate all that you do How clever his verses allure and secure You attention that’s sure to endure evermore He captures your mind with phonetics of sound Magnetic, aesthetic, poetically bound He writes with a magical, mystical quill His artistic advances fatalistcally thrill Hypnotic, exotic, erotic and deep Are like a narcotic to put you to sleep They sensitize, tranquilize, paralyze you Til you fantasize dreams about to come true Hypnotized, mesmerized, totally charmed Captured, enraptured, completely disarmed How bewitching a poet whose talents transcend To seducing your heart with the stroke of a pen But he thinks you’ll appear at the wave of his wand The problem before you, is how to respond If the snake charmer thinks he can have and eat cake And you just don’t like playing the part of a snake You need never respond, there is nothing to say Just show a few fangs, dear, he’ll slither away Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 07-16-2000).] |

Excellent work! Put together in the finest of style and rhyme. By the way, we're not all that bad you know, some of us are truly sincere. I have no interest in snakes but there are many qualities that the girls possess that I am quite enamoured with. I really do like the mystic overtones of the content, very special indeed. |

Oh, you did brilliantly with this one, Liz. This is one of those poems where I read it and say "Darn! Why didn't I think of that!?" Of course, you know they say that the snake is charmed by the movement of the horn and not the music....so if you stay away from horny fakirs, you should be ok |

oooh, Liz; This is so incredible! Now you've got me nervous, so far I haven't felt the slightest bit charmed by anyone's poetry, not in the way you portray it. But from now on I'm on the alert for the snake that might slither my way, and I will heed your wise advice, and ignore the scoundrel! HAHA! Dear sweet friend, I love the clever wording in this poem. You do have a way with words! Love and hugs, Ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

While stay at an arm's length one must, Wary of tricks of many a snake charmer, 'Tis my aim to remind you of some trust, If placed on the right one, you will live a life charmed... Not all men are charmers of snakes as of course not all women are snakes... interesting thoughts though... so you see this is another thought-provoking poem from you Liz.... Many regards, sudhir |

This poem was just written in fun, not referring to any poet I know. In fact all the male poets at passions are very charming, alluring, and respectful. (And Passionate, thank goodness), and I love you all. There's not one snake charmer in the bunch, although your poetry is sometimes very enticing, but always in good taste. We've got a great bunch of men on Passions. Thanks for all of your your remarks Liz |
