Left At The Church
~*Marge Tindal*~

It started as a small squall.
It left me in it's lurch.
The storm within you brewing,
left me standing at the church.

My tear-stained face,
the satin and the lace.
My heart sighing,
even the flowers were dying.

Instead of Here Comes The Bride,
they played Where Is The Groom?
The day my world stopped
and shadows cast a gloom.

The preacher gone home.
The crowd and the ushers too.
I sat alone on the steps
still waiting for you.

Out of the shadows you stepped.
My heart took a leap.
The guilt on your face when you said,
'Sorry, babe, I got cold feet.'

Suddenly it was funny.
We found that we could cope
with any kind of disaster.
Now let's find the preacher and ELOPE !
