I have often found inspiration in the music I hace listend to. I grew up in L.A. California, douring th late 70's and early 80's. The punk and underground scene there has probably more to do with my writing than I would like to admit. This song is from a compelation of artists that were based mainly out of London. The singer is from a group called the Cocteau Twins, she has the most beautifull voice, haunting at times and can sear your heart. This was the first album from the compleation, they named themselves "This Mortal Coil". The name of the song, "Song of the Siren". I have often found inspiration in it, and at times feel as though as the writer, we are the Siren..... Michael G I'm floating on ships oceans I did all my best to smile To your singing eyes and fingers Drew me off into your eyes And you sang Said to me Said to me, let me hold you Here I am Here I am Waiting to hold you.. Did I dream You dreamed about me Were you here when I was forced Now my foolish boat is leaning Broken up on your rocks For you sing Touch me not Touch me not come back tommorrow Oh my heart Oh my heart Shines from the sorrow...... When I must poison this new born child I'm as riddled as the time Should I stand with breakers Or should I now death my pride Hear me sing Swim to me Swim to me let me hold you Here I am Here I am Waiting to hold....you...... |

very cool lyrics.. believe it or not...I've heard of MC... my younger brother listen to them a few years ago... music is a passion of mine ... i think most poets crave music for the emotions and inspiration we get from the lyrics ... later gator jm There are places inside our souls - that have never been touched. There are places inside our hearts - that need to be loved this much. ~jm~ |
