State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-07-13 12:09 PM

Tonight I find myself
thinking of you again
Just like every night
since your name first crossed my lips

Can't seem to shake this feeling
that I've known you all my life
Can't seem to get your vision
to leave this weary mind

Every night I ask God above
"Why does this have to happen now?"
And though I never hear his voice
the answer is clear and loud

"My son! Is it not obvious
that every man has one true love?"
"That this angel you see before you
was sent down from above?"

"This is your one chance
to gain true happiness"
"This is your one chance
to be wrapped in heaven's bliss"

*****************************
Part two

I ask you "Where do we go from here?"
You say "I dunno" and then I feel the tears
"I wish I had all the answers to take your tears away"
"Just know that I'll always love you a little more every day"

I feel as if I'm lost in a dream
as your vision once again appears
A dream that turns into a nightmare
with every moment without you here

I will never forget the sound of my name
the first time I heard it cross your lips
Or the way my body trembled and shivered
at the mere touch of your fingertips

No other will ever have my love
I cannot freely give that which I do not own
My heart belongs to you
To you and you alone

**************************************

As of this moment I decline to comment on "who" or "what" this poem is about

Hello Jeffrey....

    No, I won't ask who, and I won't ask
    what, but I understand why.....
Just remember, there can be more than
one true love in a lifetime....

         Beautiful work...
                I'm looking forward to
                      reading you again...

Life is but a dream...
so sleep easy...

Sunny1, Thanks for the kind words and not asking, but I have to disagree ...sorry

Coco, I thank you and I too must add that quite a few tears came along with this piece. Some happy , some sad , but all for one very special lady
And mostly tears of joy

(To the one this is for- and I know you know who you are - I'm looking forward to seeing that beautiful smile again    )

Jeffrey, I would have to echo the sentiments of Sunny1, here.  You've seen first hand the darkness and the light in my life.  I truly believe EVERYTHING in life happens for a reason - and only Time will reveal that reason.  Wonderful display of emotion here, btw...

  You brought an
ache of understanding to my heart Jeffrey...
no I don't know your "who or what" but often
poetry responds with a reflection of
soul...not always identical...regardless I
felt this one to my toes. Take care sweet

I feel as though you have looked into my secret heart and understood it all.  Now, if you come up with an answer to it all please let me know.

Jeffery
I Hadn't read this before I posted my poem , "Touching you".
However, I think I can say that I know exactly how you feel.
AT one time I was told by my love that "we" could never be. I refused to accept it and kept showing her how much I loved her. In the end she had to accept that she too loved me.
I do hope that things work out for you as well as they have for me and I too will be watching for part 3!!< !signature-->

Love is like the mumps.....the older you are, the harder it hits you!

You reached inside me a spoke to my soul with this one!!

I am in awe.

It was like you were describing my life, I don't know how else to describe it but that way.

The part where you wrote:
I ask you "Where do we go from here?"
You say "I dunno" and then I feel the tears
"I wish I had all the answers to take your tears away"
"Just know that I'll always love you a little more every day"

I had that very conversation with someone who has probably permently stolen my heart.

When you find the way to live through this, and the ability to move on, could you let me know how you did it?!!

great writing

Oh, this poem is wonderfully written, but so sad. It brought me to tears! Just remember, if it's meant to be, it will be. If not, something better will come along. Best of luck!

JC

You lead me to wonder there
in your cryptic way
whether to feel good or bad
you do not quite give say.

So be content for the time
nay transparent not your rhyme
but through the verse be well thought
for the here and now is all you've got.

You always do this quite well, JC, it's a pleasure to read you...

So Romantic! Such words only come from the heart, a heart that feels true love! I hope to find out who this lucky woman is to have such devoted words spoken to her? Well  I'll wait for part three!

Ok, I must say I probably will never be able to enlighten you on who or what this poem is about, but just so you know, it was written with tears in my eyes and love in my heart. And though you will probably never know I would hope that we all come to know this feeling one day Thank you all again for your support and kind words. It is truly an honor to be here among all of you

Hi Jeffrey,

I guess it does not matter who or what only that it reached in and touched your heart enough to be able to share it with the world and that right there makes it a forever thing (call it true love if you will) awesome writting my friend.

Love, Cerenity
