SUMMER'S DREAM ADRIFT ...

Summer's dream finally arrives to swallow up Spring;
Days of long and sun, joyous song and fun to bring.

A child's fantasy of Summer's never ending days so sure;
Take not the play away, but give in to its enticing lure.

A sandlot diamond shines from base to base as we play;
From dawn 'til dusk, bat and ball inviting our treasured stay.

Old country store beckons candy's call of chews and sweets;
Run the entire stretch, from door to door, for a cache of treats.

Swim in waters not deep, but clear as a Winter's night;
A breath taken be a breath given on days of Summer's sight.

Whispers of nature's call come on floating feathered seed;
Flowering life abounding in the surround of sound to feed.

Freshening rain on occasion to bring green its glow;
To running rivers keep the swift and hurry its flow.

Fireflies fly on starlight's wings during nights so bright;
Capture and clasp tight the jar to lead our memories flight.

Summer's dream finally arrives to give of its many gifts;
Summer's dream always survives to send our spirits adrift.

I'm not sure what the M.A. stands for, but
the M should stand for 'Marvelous'!!!!!
This read took me back (I won't tell you)
so many years, and that felt GOOD!!!!!!

You have some very likening images there, and to me (since I am more towards visual)they are precious... I like the way you write and place the words too...
