Nasty Piece of Work

Arrogance in a shiny gray suit,
Our hero, a man who leads men
Through whatever make-believe wars
Are brewed by such lunacy,
Even at a round table
He’s seated at the head.

Using power and influence,
The stink of it all about him
Like indelible cologne
Tattooed beneath silk,
The smell of money
From pockets of corpses.

Women don’t play a part
Except as whores
Or mothers to be kept,
Useful when it serves
Bearing only sons,
Funny how THAT works.

Another August morning,
White light sears through
Tall penthouse windows
Where the only furnishings
Are a platform bed
And a personal arsenal.

Yes, he embodies evil,
Kingpin rich on crime
Slime of our times,
Rationalizing murder.
Instead of one Hitler
We have many.

Ohhh, this is powerful indeed... in fact owerful seems like an understatement... This one is searing with some seething rage... I wonder what triggered this... whatever it may have been has brought out the rage, the fury from deep within...
