Ghostly raindrops darkly glimmer With the haze of yesterday Fallen eyes cast to the shadows Within the tempest lay. Possessed by the trembling skies The radiance of life does shiver And raped of peaceful innocence The breath of our Heaven quivers. Dying whimpers sigh painfully Upon the voices of our children Even angels can't hear their pleas Above the soulless din. Our spirits fall in silver shards Among the casualties of hate Ruthless minds now reign in power And disregard all fate. A distant reverie once shimmered Beyond the famine of our dreams But one cannot hear words of hope When a dying world does scream. Fallen eyes must gently rise And search blackness for the light For only when we clear our souls Can love overpower endless night. *Krista Knutson* "Thought is real, physical is the illusion..." Albert from ~What Dreams May Come~ |

This exudes darkness from every vivid line. I think I understand this one, even with my lackluster interpretation skills, the decay of society, the raping of the earth, selfish leaders... The world isn't kind... (I'm probably totally wrong, LOL) Loved the last lines. "For only when we clear our souls Can love overpower endless night." Abrahm Simons "In a moment lies eternity And in a kiss resides forever" - Krista Knutson my bestest friend! |

Krista~ That was a great poem. Very different from the ones you usually write though. I enjoyed this a lot! "Even a fool knows you can't touch the stars, but it doesn't stop a wise man from trying." Harry Anderson, "Night Court" *Cassandra Roseen* |

Possessed by the trembling skies The radiance of life does shiver And raped of peaceful innocence The breath of our Heaven quivers Our spirits fall in silver shards Among the casualties of hate Ruthless minds now reign in power And disregard all fate. A distant reverie once shimmered Beyond the famine of our dreams But one cannot hear words of hope When a dying world does scream. Dark, tragic, powerful yet hopeful the last verse is beautiful, a blinging ray of hope in the dark. wonderful poem. Fallen eyes must gently rise And search blackness for the light For only when we clear our souls Can love overpower endless night. ------------------------ "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." E.E Cummings. "Art is a lie which makes us realise the truth." Pablo Picasso "You do not destroy an idea by killing people; you replace it with a better one". Edward Keating ----- |
