The StoryTeller (in tribute to Balladeer)

Each time I see a post of yours,
   Anticipation builds,
As cursor clicks on "Balladeer",
   What treasures will unfold?

What tales of past am I to see?
   What stories will you bring?
What message will I learn from you,
   As sweetly your pen sings?

I sit with rapt attention,
   And devour every line ...
They flow as if conducted,
Filled with rhythm and with rhyme.

You set the cast of characters,
   Reach in their very souls;
They come to life so vividly,
   As every line unfolds.

The scene is cast, and soon I find
   I'm sitting in their place;
Transported to this world you've penned …
   I picture every face.

Each line is an adventure,
   Every word I read sublime;
You take me on a journey that
   Transcends this mortal mind.

I could not choose a favorite,
If I were put to test …
For every time I read a'new …
I say "I like this best!"

I've not encountered anyone,
Who weaves a tale so dear,
As the poet I have come to know ...
    As simply Balladeer.

/Kit McCallum

A wonderful tribute to a great Balladeer.

Kit, what can I say?! What a wonderful, wonderful thing for you to do. I am so happy that you enjoy my poetry and have taken the time to do this. I think that, for everyone no matter what they do in life, one of the greatest rewards they can experience is to have someone they respect say Well Done. You have done so and in a magnificent way. I thank you, Kit, more than you can know

For Michael ...(a little ditty)

A poets poet ...
master of yarn and weave.
His words to all delight,
he gives us sweet poetic reprieve.

Humor laced with wisdom,
wit entwined with grace.
I only need to read his words ...
to find a smile upon my face.

He writes with gentle honesty ...
shares lessons learned thru the years.
His love poems are my  most favorite,
I do so enjoy a read with our gifted Balladeer.

thank you for your always wonderful replies to my work.
You encourage, compliment, and inspire me...
you make me smile and laugh with your keen
sense of humor,
often when I needed a good laugh.
Most of all you help me to grow as a poet.
thank you my friend.
respectfully yours,
Janet Marie

~Balladeer:
You are most welcome!   It was my pleasure to write this in tribute to your wonderful works. I started to respond to your poem, but found myself at a loss for usual words. I'm simply enchanted with your writing, and find that in reading, am always inspired with the messages, the characters, the style, the flow and the positive and happy feel they always seem to leave me with.  You have a wonderful talent, and I'm just pleased to let you know!

Best wishes, and much appreciation to all,
/Kit
