Okay.... I throw it all away. Crumpled paper, in the fire. (Pretty, when the edges burn.) What food is ashes word expired? What good is there, when all, begone? What good to tarry, (Tarry on...) someone please, next note of song.. Assure me, I'm not written wrong. [This message has been edited by serenity (edited 06-12-2000).] |

This one caught my attention.... hidden depth in its subtleties... Nicely done. Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn. JP "Everything is your own damn fault, if you are any good." E. Hemmingway |

I think we all hit a point where we look at our words and wonder if this is right, am I heading in the right direction. And as simply a reader of your poetry you are writting perfectly right. another wonderful poem. ------------------------ "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." E.E Cummings. manic street preachers "Culture Alienation Borebom and Despair" "I know I believe in nothing but it is my nothing" -faster MSP "And you see, I kind of shiver to conformity Did you see, the way I cower to authority, you see And my life, it's a series of compromises anyway It's a sham, and I'm conditioned to accept it all, you see" six by Paul Draper. ----- |

i like this one. i had to read it a lot to finally see it, but i get it now. very smooth and subtle. Ashes are the food of the world. there's no better fertilizer. and don't doubt your talent, because it's very evident here. ---------------------- if it looks good, you'll see it. if it sounds good, you'll hear it. if it's marketed right, you'll buy it. but if it's real, you'll feel it. -Kid Rock ---------------------- "You are not special. You are not a brilliant and unique snowflake. You are part of the same decaying organic matter as everyone else. We are all part of the same compost heap. We are the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world." -Tyler Durden "On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone is zero." -Tyler Durden We all got somethin' to atone for. -Ethan Halo |

thanx for replying to my one syllable poem...am here to return the favor.... can identify with this post very well...often feel the same way myself...sometimes, i wonder why i bother to carry on writing...im not good with words...dont know much about what makes poetry work and i just want to give up cos my words seem so false and fake and makes me want to puke... ![]() this reminds me of my darker moments in poetry...thanx for reminding me that i am not ALONE in feeling this way... ![]() ![]() regards |
