Will You Be My Poet? Will you be my poet? Will you be, tonight, my bard? Will your taste for tender trappings let me forget that I am scarred with heart and soul abrasions and unkind circumstance? Will you sing your sweetened syllables, draw me near to dream and dance? Will you wrap your arms about me in a sensual embrace, breathe to life a verse of emerald words with soft and stirring grace? For a woman, even one of words, needs now and then a kiss. Her flesh, afire in sonnet's sway, needs touch and balm and bliss. For pen to ink brings often less than warmth in lamplight's glowing and heart, sequestered, aches to live within the realm of knowing. So consider, love, my modest plea 'pon nearing ledge of light and say you will my poet be, through threshold of this night. Claire |

Claire, I read this first this morning before there had been any replies, knowing it would be inundated. I see there is a dearth of males replies which I suspect is because we are all fantasizing... what an amazing talent you possess. |

Claire, You have such talent and write with such feeling. This was beautiful. It is never easy to get over heartbreak, but in time you will find the love you deserve my friend. Touched me with this one. Superb writing! LW Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility. --William Wordsworth |

I find you, James, with racing heart quite charming, charismatic and I suspect that with a kiss you'd be most acrobatic Janet Marie, thank you...you always say the nicest things! EagleOne, I am pleased to know you liked it...thank you for reading and taking the time to let me know. CocoBaci, your response is so kind...thank you. Dear Balladeer, my sterling bard your verses are appealing poetically speaking, you're avante garde Sir, your rhythm sends me reeling! And with your sonnet's sweetened stroke Your touch would be most tender With passion of epic proportion evoked, how could I not surrender? Lone Wolf, I am happy to have touched something in your heart with this. Thank you for telling me. SEA, many thanks to you for your kind words...so glad you enjoyed it! Sven, my most humble gratitude for such words of honor and enchantment...I shall await, with pleasure. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
