Car Wreck

Swerving to avoid you on the hiway
Memories come flooding back
Screams and squealing tires
Combine with my car hitting a telephone pole
Glass shattering falling straight
Skid marks, burning brake smell
Me getting thrown around
Wondering if my best friend is ok
All combine for 60 seconds of terror
And make me wish that the car wreck I dreamed
Was still just a dream...

Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go.

Haunting memories in the form of dreams..
I feel for the dreamer.

Vividly shared...this would be cause for many
nightmares I would imagine...I hope that
writing will help them to cease.

Actually, the writing of stuff has helped. My best friend and I both walked away from the crash... Basically, I swerved to the left to avoid someone on the hiway, my car skidded to the right (traveling sideways) we ended up in a parking lot, hit the embankment on the side, and got launched into the air into a telephone pole. Quite freaky really. The paramedics said they don't know how we walked away alive... Both axles on my car are broken, the two driver side doors are ruined, windows broken, too, the frame is basically bent and broke due to the impact of the pole.... All this and the car started up when I went and got my stuff out of it. Lucky???? I think so. And yes, the other guy was cited for failure to yield right of way, his car was unhurt, and my car will be replaced.

Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go.

In moments like this dream and reality tend to get a little blured, can be hard at the time to distinguish what is indeed realality. I'm glad you were able to walk away.

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown

Cuddlez~
Very thankful that you were unhurt.
I'm sure you don't need to be reminded that vehicles can be replaced and lives cannot.
Count your blessings, my dear.
