Like the deer, she trembles, The innocent victim too kind to kill, To easy to kill. I could watch her slip into meadows, Hold my breath still, Easy as the wind she drifts by. Deer hearts in their eyes. Deer souls in their leaps, smiles. So easily she can feed Before the hunter, unaware. Grace on four legs is she, Unable to escape the chase. I wonder why I cry aloud when she falls. She had wandered into the clearing, All too aware of the hunter's gun. Time and again, the Dear know Just how many of them will fall. Grace walking, dying, is she, Unable to resist the life she was born to. I could feel the pain of the bullet struck in her heart. Painless...? ...death. Too much have I seen the kill. Too much have I felt the shot. Each time I watch them fall... ...I fall with them. For a bask in warm sunlight in a clearing, For a rest from a lonely wander in a dense jungle, They'd relent to their desires. Shot in the heart, they lay dying. Now I die too. For so long I've been running in the chase, So tired of running, I was the dear, now forsaken. I wonder what brought me to this pain. For a little sunshine in my eyes? A little warmth in my life... Hurt still living inside, Breaking away the life. She learns to avoid all open, friendly spaces, For never again would she relent. Never would she ever want to be loved As the dear. Hello, everyone. Back again for a short time, to let y'all see this 15-year-old's [bad] angsty poetry. Salut, Alwye. ~Astraea "Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness." "Sorrow's crown of sorrow is remembering happier things." |
