My happiness is a field And a butterfly net. In my field I can lie On my back and look at the sky Watching the cloud picture-show, While the breeze coaxes brave blades of grass Into tickling the bare soles of my feet. A fly lights on my hand To be gently shooed away, and To gently sneak back when I stop looking And resume it's therapeutic crawl. My butterfly net, with a mind of its own, Idly catches the thoughts that are lazing Through the air on the breeze. In my field I can lie On my back and look at the sky, And chew on some mental cud. |
