I am afraid
that you won't stay;
that a storm will take my sun away,
devouring what remains of my tattered soul in its vile blackness.

I am crying
for the heartbreaks of my past;
for wanting to make what we have last,
saving our relationship from the curse that tortures me.

I am ok now
and I let out a sigh;
and I dry the last cold tears from my eyes,
for starting tomorrow I will no longer live with this pain and fear.

I was crazy
to think that you would leave me;
to think that you would hurt me like he,
wrenching out my loving heart and throwing it on the ground.

I am content
knowing that you are mine;
knowing that I will be just fine...
You have begun to repair my scarred and broken heart.

And, at last!
I am happy
lying in your arms and savoring your kiss;
lying here thinking of that and this--
The fresh start I have made...
and the great guy who has made me new once again.
