To John David Alexander, As I hold you in my arms, you sleep, And I gaze down at your face. It hurts me when I realise, I have finally found my place. A life of such sweet innocense. A heart I hate to break. But I will have to leave soon, No longer be hear when you wake. I wish that you were truely mine And I could take you when I go. You have brough great joy to my life, Just though that you should know. All it takes is one sweet smile And my face no longer has a frown. And with your addicting laugh, You pick me up when I am down. The time is getting near, To when I will have to move. I hope you know I love you, And that I wish you could come too. It is fate that brought us together, And life that takes us apart. But no matter where I'll be, You'll hold a special place in my heart. You will grow up baby boy, And turn into a fine young man. Too bad I can't stay to watch, I'll just cherish the moments I have. You have your parents to love you, Though, you, I wish I could keep. That is why these tears fall, As I hold you while you sleep. **To the sweetest little rugrat in the world-->Alex.
