Slowly, ever so slowly... Im losing myself. I feel as though as of late, a part of me slips away every day. I feel that everything i am, everything i ever was- its like sand between my fingers now, slipping through a carefully constructed psyche, leaving only bits, and pieces in its wake. Parts of me, my personality, my emotions, my very zeal, and inspiration... Much like an apple, which falls from its tree, I seem to have fallen from grace, to have parts of me, that make me who i am, eaten away at every day, slowly, by a tedious repitition of routine. Im burning out, and i fear the end may be near. But as i feel like a seed under a ton of dirt, i also realize i need something, anything to get me out of this routine im in. It's time for a change, time for me to rediscover why. Why am i doing this? Why have i devoted myself to this in the first place? And when the answer comes, it will be just the water the seed needs, to break out from the dirt that held it down so. Just what i need to break out from under the crushing weight everyday life. And when i do: I will be a refreshed, renewed me. NOTE: I guess what im trying to explain, is how sometimes you get caught up, and worn down in certain things: work, school, etc. Sometimes you just gotta find a way to renew yourself, so you can continue on in life. Well, thanx for reading! |

I recently posted a poem that would fit your metaphor... As a flower blossoms with beauty Humanity blossoms with joy and love As a flower must face the winter sun Humanity must face truth and life Life is full of good times, and life is full of hard times, It's are job to make the best of our time. Thats a nice metaphor. It's actually kinda scary how it fits the topic. And to that i must say, that any simularities between our poems are just a coincidence. |

I have definatly felt like that many times and I've never been able to put it as well as that! It's as if if you commit yourself to only a few things, you lose hold of other things in the process and it feels like you'll never regain that part of you. Great descriptive piece! Salooma |

Nice poem Barry. I feel that way a lot, but generally when I'm not doing anything. When I'm unemployed, and not in school. Activity gives my life purpose. Keep it real… Jose Marti |
