I've perpetually inhabited the cold,
Beast's lair.
Flung around viciously,
Under eternal enmity
Of innocence long lost.
Caustic ice flourishes
Because warmth, sanity
Has been killed.

Beast is beyond any realms
Of trembling children's nightmares.
Seductively it wails
Pledges protection
From the world of heartache.
It's cunning dark allure
Drew me into it's shivering cave
When I was five.

Beast,
Drained me of life
Chasing, pouncing upon
Breathing air of icicles
Stabbed my cries
Sucked my laughter

I froze,
A cynical
Ice beast-cub.

"Controlling my feelings for too long....
And forcing our darkest souls to unfold...
And pushing us into self-destruction...."

cool poem its really hard not to get sucked into the beasts lair sometimes just dont let it drain your life keep on going and having fun

Those who fight monsters shouel be careful not to become one.
Nice work Lani! I think your work is excellent and I admire your thoughts of eloquence and darkness. I hope to read more soon.
