THE WAY I AM

To talk to me must be a chore.
I'm grateful for your patience.
The words I speak must be a bore,
because it's only shyness you see.
I freeze up when you're around,
you probably feel ignored.
Then I hear your voice, that lovely sound,
& freeze up even more.
I need you to draw me out.
Please help me if you can.
I'll try not to hold back,
but it's just the way I am.

Don't you think that one of these days , no matter what, you're gonna have to tell yourself to just go for it and just let out what you're thinking? It's not gonna hurt you now is it? The person is there to talk to you already, might as well make it a conversation. For that to happen, 2 people should be talking back and forth

Great expression Elmo! Funny how some of us can write and write so much, with clear expression, and yet ask us to speak aloud, and our hearts contract, our mouths go dry and the knees tremble. I've known this feeling all too well.
